Reviews & Questions

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough and durable. I've had mine for a few years. It's holding up great. I've hauled firewood, ice fishing gear and camping gear. The last year had poor snow conditions lots of ice and rocks, the runners are saving the bottom of the sled. It could use a single metal edge on the center runner though. I was hauling it across a lake with no snow and the wind blew it sideways against my quad tire and the tow bar went over the tire an against my fender. The studs in the tire scratched up the bar but never bent it. Going to mod it for next winter. I can turn it and back up with it loaded in snow. The cover stays in place and keeps everything free of snow. I'd recommend this sled to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Upgrades Recently purchased a second Trek Sort 82 sled. The old sled is great and the new sled is even better with 2 upgrades that Pelican incorporated. The first is the attachment of the tow hitch to the sides of the sled rather than the front. This provides better stability and much more flexibility in handling and storing the sled. The second is the addition of tie down rings in the bottom of the sled and inclusion of tie down straps. One other thing to note is that both sleds are wide enough to fit a large dog crate in the sled.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good but needs some upgrades Brought the sport trek 82 and used it for approx 3 months of winter. Its light in weight which is great and cuts down on the hauling weight and improves flotation.Material seems to be very robust and forgiving another great feature. However i would improve the runners to actually fit tight into their groves as to provide lateral movement support ,more so to stop the movement.I suspect because of the lateral movement they will break in this way, remains to be seen. Its capacity is 700 lbs but could be increased just by providing bigger surface plates to mount the hitch to the sled.I have found the actual receiving hitch itself, spring stop after a short time wears into the toe hitch body causing damage, needs to be upgraded. Also please check the mounting screws for the runners as several on mine were extremely loose and in 7 cases stripped. The front of the runners need to be molded to the body much more tightly, right now it sits off the body about 3/8 of an inch gap. This will promote breakage in the future i'm sure. The overall length is 82.5 inches why not just make it a full 8 ft or 96 inches. The full 8 ft would make it great to haul full length studs and provide a little extra room on long haul trips.Everything said its a great product ,well belt and a good warranty. It needs some upgrades and fixes to make it bulletproof, overall mostly worth it. I paid just under $400 at home hardware for mine, price could be addressed and a maximum set by the manufacture.Perhaps $300 be the max with the improvements mentioned.keep up the good work pelican!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor material quality. I am very disappointed in this sled. I have taken it on two short day trips. I pulled it with my snowmobile for 60km on snow packed trails and frozen lakes. All but one runner wore through and into the base of the sled. It is built with very poor materials and I will not be purchasing another. I would not recommend this product.

What is the purpose of the indentations around the black rim of the sled?  Are there clamps or other things that can attach there?

Asked by: Jerry74
The mold is made as such if a consumer would intend to attach a bungee rope; there aren't any clamps.
