THE CATCH 130 HYDRYVE

THE CATCH 130 HYDRYVE by Pelican brings pedal drive technology within reach on this 12’6” rudder controlled fishing kayak. Made with our proprietary RAM-X™ Premium, a multi-layer polyethylene with an advanced resin in the top layer imparting a glossy finish and providing significantly more rigidity than standard polyethylene, THE CATCH 130HD remains light, stiff, strong, and easy to move. At only 78lbs, you won’t need any help to transport this kayak to your favorite fishing spot.
The HYDRYVE pedal system makes maneuvering in shallow water or around aquatic plants, an absolute breeze and by using the power of your legs, you’ll be able to go for long distances without getting tired. We have taken a modular approach to our design. This way if anything goes wrong, repairing the drive is easy. To prevent damage to the actual kayak, we have specially designed an independent housing in which the HyDryve sits. This ensures if too much torque is applied to the pedal drive, the kayak remains undamaged and the housing is easily replaced. It is important to note that the pedal housing is NOT a watertight structure as the "scupper hole" in which it resides is watertight. The gap between the top and bottom halves is completely normal and specifically designed in that manner to ensure easy cleaning and rinsing as well as quick drying. The pedal housing acts as a buffer between the pedal drive and the watertight hull.
The HyDryve comes with a One-year limited warranty and features adjustable pedals as well as adjustable foot straps to ensure a comfortable position. In addition, our footrests are double-sided and optimized for either barefoot use or use with boots and shoes. And, while you have to reverse the HYDRYVE in order to go backwards, we have made sure that insertion and removal of the pedal drive is simple and quick.
THE CATCH 130HD provides the same quality and durability you have come to expect from THE CATCH family. We have packed this kayak with the convenient features you love like multiple flush mount rod holders, several rigging tracks, bottle and tackle box holders, accessory eyelet, anti-slip carpet, an 8” day hatch with storage bag, a convenient angler ruler, and two tank wells for easy storage.
Our famous tunnel hull still provides a high level of stability to ensure an easy and relaxing sight fishing experience. We’ve also included our most recent and most comfortable ERGOCAST G2 seating system. A pocket on the backrest allows you to insert extra lumbar support with straps that adjust the level of support. Straps under the seat adjust to provide as firm or as soft a seat as you prefer. An elastic pocket and strap conveniently located on the seat allows you to keep your pliers, cutters and clippers close at hand. And, there is a large pocket on the back of the seat to provide even more space to store your gear. When you're ready to stand, simply flip the seat backwards to give yourself even more deck space to stand on.
Our unique manufacturing process allows us to include additional flotation inside the hull of all of our sit-on-tops in order to meet or surpass ABYC Standards. This overall process keeps our kayaks lighter than the competition while making them even more solid and buoyant. Made with our patented RAM-X™ PREMIUM material, an exceptionally durable high molecular weight polyethylene that contains a top layer of advanced resin, which provides more rigidity while still being conveniently lightweight, THE CATCH 130 HyDryve will provide years of fishing adventure. The wait is over, it’s time to create stories in your own pedal drive, fishing kayak. THE CATCH 130 HYDRYVE, making the dream a reality!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DRIVE IS GARBAGE I have had the Catch 130 for almost a year. I that time i have put in about 8 warranty claims. I have had 6 total drives that keep breaking. I am so unhappy with my product and wish I could go back and get something different. When its working its awesome but I have had such a bad experience with it. They have no one in charge to talk to about all the problems i have had with it.The customer service started off good, but has since gotten extremely terrible. They expect ME the customer to be understanding about all the problems I have had with it. DO NOT GET THIS KAYAK unless you want countless problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for every purpose I just purchased this at the selkirk mb location. I decided to dish out the money as I went through shoulder surgery 3 weeks ago. Absolutely love it and the drive is really smooth. My only complaint would be is the amount of scratches on the bottom. I know it's big and bulky and it was the last one on display. And over time I will probably add more scratches. Maybe I'm just really OCD and I take care of my stuff. So when purchasing cause of the size and awkwardness of it. Store employees and shipping campers could take better care of the product till the customer purchases it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from only one problem dang love perfect for bass walleye cat and others.... i ran into one issue the bolt on the fin connection randomly snapped in half even though i hit nothing. I strongly advise going over the kayak with your own two eyes first. besides this i loved it. throwing on two more tracks for fold up wheels and done. this is not a im grabbing this and going around the falls and through the brush real fast kayak on your shoulder....more of a ontop or back of truck to water yak not really due to weight just the size makes carrying longer distances a much harder task but fishing is an amazing time

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Has screw leak issues I like the kayak specially the price for a 13ft pedal drive one but it has issues with leaky screws used to secure accessories. The kayak already had the recall done to the rudder base leaking issue but the problem seems to be with any screw. I would find that water would seep in to the hull siting on dry dock after it would rain. I solved the main problem by sealing the pedal deck screws with silicone. Again I like the kayak but there is a quality control issue. I hope I don’t have any other issues and hope Pelican address this problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple fixes Perfect for my purpose / Good price / Comfortable / Stable / Transport is a challenge. 1/ Peddle deck deformed in storage prior to sale - could have been avoided by supplying a shape retaining insert for storage. 2/ steering cable guide at the side steering station broke during set up - Could have used metal vs plastic as steering has similar stress to bicycle brake cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Kayak! I just bought this kayak, took it out on a maiden voyage and love it. Light weight, easy to get it from pickup truck to the water. Love the pedal drive, very easy to pedal and fish in the current. Caught 2 big bass first time out as it took me into places a paddle would have limited the ability to fish and stay in the current. Fished about 5 hours straight and seat is very comfortable, no sore rear upon getting out. Absolutely love it, thank you Pelican!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needs just a few tweaks... First let me say I love my new Catch 130HD. And less than 1/2 the price of a comparable Hobie pedal drive, it's a great value for the money! That said, I have a few suggestions for future design improvements: : 1. Starting at the bow, there is an obvious spot on the front of the boat where a hatch could/should have been installed it even looks like space was created for one during the design process, but the hatch was simply never installed? It appears to be the perfect place for a batteries, etc. that you don't want exposed to the elements. 2. There is another seemingly obvious spot for a hatch on the bench right behind the seat. Again it appears as though an opening for a hatch was part of the initial design specs, and then never installed - don't know why? 3. The paddle retaining strap does not nest the paddle up against the boat very well at all poor nesting design/strap placement seems to be an afterthought, almost like "oh yeah, we need to add a retaining strap for the paddle." Add some molding on either end of the paddle nesting spots to better secure the paddle & keep it from bouncing around in rough water. 4. While you're at it, it also needs another strap & molding for a paddle/anchor pin on the starboard side of the boat as well. 5. And how about an anchor trolley for said anchor pin as well? If this is the Flagship of the Pelican fishing fleet, it should have all the accessories! 6. Last but not least, the plastic rudder protrudes from the stern about 4-5 inches, even in the stowed position, leaving it vulnerable to damage when it is secured in the bed of a truck during transit (or even hanging off the back of a trailer). Perhaps future designs could allow for the entire rudder assembly to pivot up onto the deck of the boat to minimize the potential for damage during transit? Like I said though, I LOVE my new 130HD - the pedal drive is smooth and fast - faster than a prop-driven kayak, and you can't beat the value If you want a human-powered, fin-driven pedal drive!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fail This was a great boat for about three hours of use . The bolt from the back fin keeps backing out on me . Put the bolt back in with some blue lock tight and it backed out again in less than an hour . Put in a warranty claim with Pelican on June 14th and will get a reply with in 15 business days .

Will be purchasing a kayak soon, when did this release? Also, do you plan on making/releasing a newer version soon? Thanks

The Catch 130 HDII is already out, our newest version. The right sku for the Cath130 HDII (KRP13P100) here's the link to it: https://www.pelicansport.com/us_en/krp13p100 Pelican is currently still producing this kayak, but you would need to be in contact with your local dealers to know when product will be back on shelves. Is this model still available? I was under the impression you have made improvements and I could only purchase the HD2 model. Due to covid most orders can only be placed online and I would only purchase if I was assured it was the HD2

I have a pelican the catch 130hdii and bought the pelican kayak cart. The kayak does not fit very well on the cart. The kayak needs to sit on the cart by the bow instead of the stern. Pulling the kayak backwards is not convenient. Is there a better way?

I’m planning to put a hatch at the bow and behind the seat. Do you have hatches that will perfectly fit these 2 locations that I can purchase? Thank you and stay safe!

Asked by: Ray
We do not recommend doing that. The boat is not built to add more hatches. Sorry!

Is there a plug for the hydrive hole, much like the hobie? It would fill the hole in the floor where the pedals go.

Asked by: SCOTT
No, this is not a part we carry .

My question is if I order this from the Canadian tire store is it going to be the old version of the couch 130 or is it going to be the new version of the catch 130 2020 model with the HD ii drive

Asked by: Andreousinc
The Catch 130 HDII should be advertised as such so it's easy to differentiate. It would be written on the kayak itself and on the Drive system. We suggest to give a call to your local store to see what they are selling.

The pin that holds the fin to the pedal assembly broke. Didn't hit anything. How do I get another one? It appears to be threaded into the pin bought last year and have used it a lot. I have a pic.
