Reviews & Questions

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Catch120 Easily the best yak out there for what you pay. Took it out to a local lake to practice getting back on if it flips, I actively had to try to flip it. Reboarding is fairly simple. The seat makes for a comfortable ride. Although definately not a speed demon this kayak tracks well. Plenty of storage for whatever you may bring on an extended trip on the water, and at just under70 pounds its easy enough for one person to load up and go. Definately recommend this to anyone looking for an excellent investment. 10 of 10 will buy again

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stable but slow Fantastic fishing kayak. Incredible comfort and stability. More stable than a small Jon boat, and 100x more comfortable. I gave it 3 stars for tracking, although it deserves 4, just because there's no speed rating. This boat is sloooow, but that's the trade-off for the incredible stability. I'm over 6ft tall, over 230lbs, and I can EASILY stand and fish, jump up and down, spin around in circles, and land fish while standing. If you're looking for a boat you can stand and fish in all day long in comfort, regardless of being a bigger person, look no further.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Brand New Pelican Sank I bought my kayak brand new from the sports store in Killeen Texas after returning from my deployment, I purchased this with high hopes of having a great time on the water, as soon as I put the kayak in the water everything was going good, 20 minutes later I notice the front of my kayak starting to raise up and I look back and see I have about an inch of space before the rear of my kayak is submerged. I took it back to the store I purchased and they were unable to exchange mine for the same model and they were not able to order the kayak. I am so disappointed and thankful I wasnt in a bigger lake because I would've lost my keys phone and military ID.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Made Product I bought a Pelican Catch 120 a month and a half ago and love it! This is the 2nd kayak I have owned but my first fishing kayak. It does the job very well! The Ergocast multi position seat is designed well, super comfy, is dry wick material, sturdy, and has a few pockets for extra storage which is nice. I will say the only downside that I have encountered is the overall weight of this "yak" when loaded can be pretty heavy, even with nothing, it can still be a challenge to put away. Which leads me to the issue I've had which being, difficulty in locating a kayak cart that fits the "Twin Hull" design of the Pelican Catch 120. I am trying a C Tug Cart now and I think it's going to work as I'm still awaiting shipment but so far most are too narrow to accommodate the hull design properly. The C-tug is a little pricey, but will be worth it to me if it fits, which I think it will. For this kayak, you definitely want a kayak cart of some kind. Overall excellent kayak for the price! Hope my review helps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect Amazing kayak for the price. You get a lot for your money. The only thing I wish it had stock was carry handles on the side of the kayak. I know it has 4 carry handles but if you try to carry it by one of the side handles near the seat it will eventually come loose. Simple fix I did to mine was buy handles from Walmart for $9 and install them below the factory handles for better more comfortable carrying.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality, good stability Not a water fan, but enjoy getting out and fishing. Have used canoes in the past and this is as stable, in both upper and lower seating positions. Seat is comfortable and comes up to my mid back ( I am 6' tall ). Four rod holders are positioned in the proper spots to reach easily from the seat. Good storage under seat in the upper setting. Disappointment is that it does not come with a paddle! For the price, throw it in Pelican....... Again I am 6' and I purchased the Pelican Angler 250cm, works well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pelican Catch 120 - Great stable kayak Have owned mine for a year now and totally love it! Super stable, plenty of room for all your gear and didn't hurt the budget too hard. Could use a skeg or rudder system to help it track better but worth every penny. Seats in kayaks don't get any better than this one.

Beside size, what is the difference between the Catch 100 and Catch 120? Also, when ordering is there a discount for military? Is there a discount for buying 2? Lastly, do paddles come with the order?

Asked by: Grant
We sell only through dealers and retailers, so any discounts will have to be checked with your local dealer directly. Also, different dealers offer different accessories : you might these sold with a paddle in certain stores, others not. The major difference on these two is the size . Which affects also the overall weight capacity of the kayak and a bigger front hatch on the 120. Acessories are similar also ( same number of rod holders i.e )

I am 6’3 and about 350lbs and see a capacity of 400 lbs, is that the max in that it will sink with anymore than that, or is that the max to be able to operate smoothly?

Asked by: JsG87
That would be the maximum to operate smoothly.

Would like to know how to mount rod holders to the rail system. Can't seem to find anything on the Scotty site and would like to know if there is a certain one that fits the rail system. Thanks

What rod holder accessories are compatible with the Catch 120 track system? Preferably a swivel rod holder that does not require mounting.

I live in San Antonio. Where can I buy - Pelican The Catch 120? Academy, Bass Pro Shops, and Dicks all do not sell this Kayak. I am ready to buy now.

Asked by: Jaime Liendo
Unfortunately, we have no visibility on in-store inventories. Our products are generally purchased by head offices and sent from their distribution centers through to their stores. We recommend that you use the retailer locator and call them directly for in-store availability details. https://www.pelicansport.com/ca_fr/storelocator/index We only sell our boats through retailers; there is no possibility to buy directly from Pelican. With the end of the summer season, many dealers will be ordering their new inventory in March 2021. We suggest that you check with them at that time.

I bought a Catch 120 Kayak and cannot find the right cart to carry it. Do you have any product to carry it?

Asked by: Sylvain
was hard to find a cart to get from truck to water, so I built one with PVC and lawn mower wheels. Breaks down and fits in front hatch, no need to leave it at waters edge or shlep it back to vehicle.
