Rated 1 out of 5 by from Brand New Pelican Sank I bought my kayak brand new from the sports store in Killeen Texas after returning from my deployment, I purchased this with high hopes of having a great time on the water, as soon as I put the kayak in the water everything was going good, 20 minutes later I notice the front of my kayak starting to raise up and I look back and see I have about an inch of space before the rear of my kayak is submerged. I took it back to the store I purchased and they were unable to exchange mine for the same model and they were not able to order the kayak. I am so disappointed and thankful I wasnt in a bigger lake because I would've lost my keys phone and military ID.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Made Product I bought a Pelican Catch 120 a month and a half ago and love it! This is the 2nd kayak I have owned but my first fishing kayak. It does the job very well! The Ergocast multi position seat is designed well, super comfy, is dry wick material, sturdy, and has a few pockets for extra storage which is nice. I will say the only downside that I have encountered is the overall weight of this "yak" when loaded can be pretty heavy, even with nothing, it can still be a challenge to put away. Which leads me to the issue I've had which being, difficulty in locating a kayak cart that fits the "Twin Hull" design of the Pelican Catch 120. I am trying a C Tug Cart now and I think it's going to work as I'm still awaiting shipment but so far most are too narrow to accommodate the hull design properly. The C-tug is a little pricey, but will be worth it to me if it fits, which I think it will. For this kayak, you definitely want a kayak cart of some kind. Overall excellent kayak for the price! Hope my review helps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality, good stability Not a water fan, but enjoy getting out and fishing. Have used canoes in the past and this is as stable, in both upper and lower seating positions. Seat is comfortable and comes up to my mid back ( I am 6' tall ). Four rod holders are positioned in the proper spots to reach easily from the seat. Good storage under seat in the upper setting. Disappointment is that it does not come with a paddle! For the price, throw it in Pelican....... Again I am 6' and I purchased the Pelican Angler 250cm, works well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Catch120 Had it 3 weeks. I fish the bays and shoals around Dauphin Island. My only complaint, when the wind is up and paddling into 1 ft waves ,nose is not curved upwards. you will take a little water over the bow, can't lean back to raise the nose because the seat is locked in place. This may not be a fair critisism, I see most fishing kayaks have a flat nose. Otherwise I am happy with it . Very stable, a little slow like the other reviews said.Would reccomend [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEAST! I've owned my Catch 120 for almost 3 years now and I have seen my friends go through several kayaks only to end up getting a Catch 120 themselves. I've fished lakes, rivers, creeks, ponds and even the flats out in Corpus. I have literally bent this kayak in half and then rode it the other half of the day like nothing happened. It's a no brainer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pelican Catch 120 Kayak I bought this Kayak about a month ago, I have been out on it 3 times, very comfortable, Love it, Great seat, lots of room. to store what ever I need. going to add another hatch in the back, It will be easy with the boat. This is my 1st Kayak. I think I made the right choice. 11.8ft long makes it easier to paddle, moves thru the water just fine. not as fast as some, but that's where the 34" width comes in handy. makes the boat very stable. this kayak will hold up to 400lbs so you can add plenty of tackle, accessories, and a good cooler to keep ice cold drinks during the summers months. The Pelican only weighs 69lbs empty, so easy to move. I would recommend getting a good cart to put under her. then take it to the SUV and load her up. I can load the boat by myself with a good cart and a good rack on the car. The Plano 728 Tackle box fits behind the seat, and still room for a good cooler. Go check it out. I think you will like this fishing kayak.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very stable and well made. Good and stable. Holds a good amount of gear. Great seat. Good features. Main disappointment is no rudder or kit for it. I have added an 8" hatch to the rear deck and in the process of adding a rudder. Also have added a anchor trolley system and more pad eyes. Also no dolly available on market that fits well. Have made my own and it works really well ( youtube ). I would buy again.

Is it possible to purchase the hydryve II separately and put it in my pelican 120? Feels kind of odd to buy a whole new kayak when I love the one I have, just don’t can’t to paddle all the time.

Asked by: Nia
Unfortunately the catch120 was not designed to install a HYDRYVE system. The catch130 HD, was designed to insert the HYDRYVE system in the center of the kayak.

I can not find the catch 120 in stock at any retailers. Can I buy this directly from pelican or could you direct me to a retailer that has one in stock? Thank you

Asked by: Bluedeuce
Unfortunately we do not sell our kayaks directly to the customer. You absolutely must go through one of our dealers. Pelican is currently still producing kayaks, but you would need to be in contact with your local dealers to know when product will be back on shelves. We do not have visibility over stores inventory.

why does the plastic feel like it has a little bit of give to it. The plastic feels flexible while most all other kayaks the plastic is extremely hard.

Asked by: Commisso
Our kayaks are made of RAM-X which is a multi-layer polyethylene with an advanced resin providing significantly more rigidity than standard polyethylene, it is lighter, stiffer and stronger. The other kayaks are rotomolded which mean the plastic is thicker but not stronger. Flexible polyethylene like ours is very durable for all kinds of weather.

Which paddle comes with the Catch 120?

Asked by: Anonymous
It does not come with a paddle, although I can recommend you our Catch paddles which would be a great choice for this kayak. https://www.pelicansport.com/us_en/accessories/paddles?model_collection=561

I want to buy two kayaks. A catch 120 and a catch 100. Retailers around me do not carry the 120 and are out of stock of the 100. I would like to purchase both direct from Pelican and have them shipped to a retailer or home. Is this possible?
