With a Shallow Twin-Arched V Hull, the SPRINT 106XP is designed specifically for those looking for continued primary stability, but with better responsiveness to shifts in body weight and position and for a better return on effort. Maximize each stroke with this faster yet stable hull design and at 10'6"" with the added keel extension; you will immediately feel the improved tracking performance. With ergonomic carrying handles and at only 39 lb, you will find this recreational performance kayak easy to load and carry around. The SPRINT 106XP comes equipped with convenient and upgraded accessories such as our more comfortable Ergofit G2 Seating System™. This seating system includes an adjustable and ergonomically padded back support with an ergonomically padded seat cushion, which improves airflow. Adjustable footrests will help you find the ideal paddling position while the addition of premium knee pads will allow you to brace comfortably. The cockpit windshield provides additional splash protection as well as shading for the smart phone holder with bungee cord, making it easier for you to see your screen as you keep track of your progress. There is plenty of room to store your gear using the fore and aft deck bungees. A convenient rear storage hammock and bottle holder with bungee keeps things within quick reach while leaving plenty of storage space behind the seat below deck. It's time to take your kayaking to the next level with the SPRINT 106XP!

Reviews & Questions

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic for beginners and more advanced kayakers alike! This is a fantastic kayak! Easy for beginners, plenty of great features for more advanced paddlers. Great stability and tracking, very comfortable and efficient. Enough room to move around in the cockpit. Love the adjustable foot pegs, bottle holder, and adjustable comfortable seat. The kneepads are perfect. The windshield keeps spray out of the kayak and my face! The phone holder is secure, and both holds my phone securely but is easy to get in and out of the holder. No watertight storage, but it does have a hammock for holding things off the floor. We have used these in different water conditions and been completely satisfied every time. It isn't the lightest kayak available but the weight is very manageable and reasonable. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great mix of features for an intermediate recreational kayak I was shopping for a more capable kayak than the Argo series, but still comfortable and stable for family Kayak trips while keeping the size and weight down. This Yak seemeed to fit the bill, but being a new model there are no reviews yet, so I took a chance, and am really glad I did. This is a nice kayak for intermediate paddlers who appreciate good tracking, solid secondary stability, and quicker edging than most beginner kayaks offer, but don't want to go to a full touring kayak. The keel extension does it's job in wind and when paddling aggressively, the relatively wide and shallow V retain most of the comfortable primary stability of a beginner kayak, but allow the paddler to lean on edge easier to offer quick handling and secure secondary stability. I was a little concerned that the Yak lacks a skirt flange, but it seems to sit relatively high in the water, and the "windshield" seems to eliminate most splashes from chop and paddling. The cockpit is large with a lot of loose storage in the hull, the rear compartment and hammock are easily accessible, and the deck is flat and wide enough for some decent storage, but it lacks enclosed compartments. The bottle and phone holders are a really nice touch and fits my large S8+ with room to spare, the bungee holds the phone securely and is really nice for navigating with an app. The foot rests are secure and adjustable, kneepads are nice, the seat is firm, but comfortable and supportive with a lot more room for the backrest to recline due to the open area in the back of the cockpit. All in all this is a great option for the money, on flatwater and slow rivers, a definite middle ground kayak placed between simple beginner yaks, and more expensive and less forgiving touring Yaks.

We purchased a Mustang at Dicks that we need to return because my husband is tall with long legs and cannot get comfortable or stand his feet up in the hull of the kayak.  Is there a style you would recommend for someone with long legs/adjustable footrest

Asked by: ilona
Without being a specific model, we would recommend looking into longer kayaks, 12 foot and over to be more confortable.

I have searched for this kayak on-line and cannot find it at a retail store. Can I order it direct from you?

Asked by: Mary
Unfortunately, Pelican does not sell direct. You need to pass by one of our dealers.

Does this kayak have positive floatation without bulkheads? Will the kayak accept flotation bags, that would enable self rescue?

Asked by: Doug
Our kayaks have additional flotation under the seats. Without this additional flotation the kayak will remain above water anyway. You can add flotation bags however we do not sell them and they have not been tested this way.

Is this the same version as the Pulse 106XP ? I am shopping for a kayak and saw a few of those locally at a TJ Maxx store. Any history/insight on this model would be helpful, thank you!

Asked by: Josh
Yes! This Kayak, and the Pulse 106 X are both MCP10 models. The difference in name can come from the Dealer, and maybe some accessories. But the shape and specs of the kayak will be the same.
