Great kayak!
As a smaller, middle-years woman a few features were necessary for me: Light enough to lift/carry/load by myself, narrow enough to avoid hitting fingers/paddle on the hull with every paddle stroke, and stable enough for a beginning kayaker with no desire to capsize. This kayak went beyond my expectations! All those requirements were met and, as advertised, it also tracks well and maneuvers easily. The storage areas are more than adequate and the seat and foot pegs are easy to adjust. And the seat is comfortable for a multi-hour trip. The scupper plug is a bit of a challenge for my hands, but that's of minimal concern. This kayak has been sturdy and forgiving of hull scrapes. I ended up buying a cockpit cover later to keep spiders out during \dry dock\" as the tarp&bungie option was Quite awkward and only partially effective. Overall, I'm thrilled with this model and would recommend it to any beginning kayaker. Five Stars!"

Like a best friend, this Argo 100 xp
As a beginner,I was looking for a well made Kayak, that I could get into easily and out of easily,, and be comfortable on the water , This Kayak does as promised and also allows for you to advance to intermediate , always love a challenge, So you really get your money worth Don't have to purchase another Kayak as you advance in your experience, I love the color, I love the material in which it is made love the seating, and love the fact it is made in Canada, because if they don't know how to make Kayaks who does?......

Great, Great Value
I wish there were bonus stars for comfort. I have tailbone issues and can sit in this seat for hours with no discomfort. Great job Pelican!

We love the kayaks
Love the pelican kayaks I got the intrepid premium and the pink mustang for my for my girlfriend. The intrepid has a good water proof lockable hatch and has a stronger shell (read in reviews), for $120 less you can get the mustang which comes with a hatch that is not very water proof but other than that there is really no difference beside the hatch and shell strength. They are both fantastic buys! We are beginners but now we go every weekend

Comfort exceeds our sit-on-tops.
Play boats for the beginner or just to have fun on the water. Ran across a couple of guys having engine problems with their 17' fishing boat (no ores). Offered them a tow and they jumped on it. The challenge; 10' kayak towing a 17' fishing boat. I managed to get them out to where we were able to summon assistance from the only other boat on the lake. Great work-out.

Perfect for beginners
Purchased 2 of these for my husband and I. We absolutely love them. They are easy to carry and load. They track great through the water. The seats are very comfortable. We really like the thigh pads for comfort. We always get compliments on them at the lake. Definitely would recommend.

Good kayak
I have had the most expensive kayaks and I really don't see much difference. These can do everything they can at half the price. Kentucky lake kayaker

Great first kayak. Lots of fun
Very happy with my purchase, It could use a couple more snap on ropes to secure load to boat, and waterproof hatch would be lovely.

I'm 6ft 5in and weigh in at 285lbs. Which Argo sit in Kayak would be my best option for comfort and stability?
With your height you would be best in a 12 foot kayak, as you would have more leg room and see better stability.

I am Close to an Academy store. If I ordered two of these could I have them shipped to the store near me. We also have Dicks nearby. Does it cost to have them shipped this way? Thanks
You would have to verify with the dealer, there would be shipping fees included.
Advise the dealer to get in contact with Pelican, if this is something they are considering.

What size skirt is appropriate for this kayak? (or any other Pelican 10')
This model would require the Large Spray Skirt.
Please note that not all 10 footers require the same size spray skirt

Does the styrofoam remain in or should it be removed. After first use it began to break in with pieces coming off
We recommend that you do not remove the styrofoam that is visible in the kayak as it acts as extra flotation. This extra flotation styrofoam, if removed, can be replaced with any styrofoam found at your local hardware store. The kayak, without this extra flotation, will still float and perform as it was designed for but will sit lower in the water.

With other kayaks rated 275-300# and my weight of 225# they have sat low in the water and I have gotten wet from boat wake and/or wind waves. Anyone have experience in this situation?
The kayak you are inquiring about has a maximum capacity of 300 lbs. This includes your weight and any gear you might bring along with you. At 225 lbs I would say you would be fine.

I cannot, for the life of me, figure how to open the plug drain to tget the water out. Cand someone please explain. The internet if giving me nothing.
The plug is a twist and pull. You must pull back the lever at the top, this will unlock the mecanism. Once you have done this, you can wiggle it out.

Just bought a pelican kayak and there are styrofoam blocks on each side of the seat. They seem to be attached. How do I remove them?
We DO NOT recommend to remove the styrofoam blocks, they are for additional floatation.
