No doubt about it, this sit-on-top kayak collection is for the serious kayak angler. THE CATCH family features a Tunnel Hull granting amazing stability making it easy to stand while casting your lines and there is plenty of floor space to prevent you from tripping over your equipment. Well planned out accessories help keep everything conveniently stowed and these boats are light enough for most people to carry and launch on their own! THE CATCH 120 is specially designed for those looking for a kayak with more space and storage. At 12' long and 69 lb, this kayak is ideal for the bigger angler looking to bring along a lot of gear with a total weight capacity of 400 lb. This angling kayak features our Ergocast G2 Dual Position Seating System™. A pocket on the backrest allows you to insert extra lumbar support with straps that adjust the level of support. Straps under the seat adjust to provide as firm or as soft a seat as you prefer. An elastic pocket and strap conveniently located on the seat allows you to keep your pliers, cutters and clippers close at hand. There is also a large pocket on the back of the seat to provide even more space to store your gear. Adjustable footrests will make paddling more comfortable and you can easily change your seat from paddling height to fishing height by simply slipping it into the higher slot. When you're ready to stand, simply flip the seat backwards to give yourself even more deck space to stand on. If you have any trouble, a centered stand assist strap will help you get into that standing position. Finally, anti-slip carpets will give you the extra traction you need to stand securely on a wet surface. THE CATCH 120 comes loaded with convenient features all anglers will love. A front doublewide Quick Lock hatch works great for your equipment or a battery if you use a fish finder that can be easily mounted on either of the two included rigging tracks. There are two accessory eyelets, four flush mount rod holders and two paddle/rod tie downs that ensure you have enough room for multiple rods, nets and other fishing gear. Little convenient options have also been added to THE CATCH 120, like a set of 4 scupper plugs, a forward molded paddle rest, an angler ruler, bottle holder, and robust ergonomic carrying handles. Finally, THE CATCH 120 offers a large rear tank well with bungee cords that will easily fit a milk crate packed with the rest of your gear. Our unique manufacturing process allows us to include additional flotation inside the hull of all of our sit-on-tops in order to meet or surpass ABYC Standards. This overall process keeps our kayaks lighter than the competition while making them even more solid and buoyant. Made with our patented RAM-X™ PREMIUM material, an exceptionally durable high molecular weight polyethylene that contains a top layer of advanced resin, which provides more rigidity while still being conveniently lightweight, THE CATCH 120 will provide years of fishing adventure sure to fuel stories worth sharing.

Reviews & Questions

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Catch120 Easily the best yak out there for what you pay. Took it out to a local lake to practice getting back on if it flips, I actively had to try to flip it. Reboarding is fairly simple. The seat makes for a comfortable ride. Although definately not a speed demon this kayak tracks well. Plenty of storage for whatever you may bring on an extended trip on the water, and at just under70 pounds its easy enough for one person to load up and go. Definately recommend this to anyone looking for an excellent investment. 10 of 10 will buy again

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stable but slow Fantastic fishing kayak. Incredible comfort and stability. More stable than a small Jon boat, and 100x more comfortable. I gave it 3 stars for tracking, although it deserves 4, just because there's no speed rating. This boat is sloooow, but that's the trade-off for the incredible stability. I'm over 6ft tall, over 230lbs, and I can EASILY stand and fish, jump up and down, spin around in circles, and land fish while standing. If you're looking for a boat you can stand and fish in all day long in comfort, regardless of being a bigger person, look no further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Made Product I bought a Pelican Catch 120 a month and a half ago and love it! This is the 2nd kayak I have owned but my first fishing kayak. It does the job very well! The Ergocast multi position seat is designed well, super comfy, is dry wick material, sturdy, and has a few pockets for extra storage which is nice. I will say the only downside that I have encountered is the overall weight of this "yak" when loaded can be pretty heavy, even with nothing, it can still be a challenge to put away. Which leads me to the issue I've had which being, difficulty in locating a kayak cart that fits the "Twin Hull" design of the Pelican Catch 120. I am trying a C Tug Cart now and I think it's going to work as I'm still awaiting shipment but so far most are too narrow to accommodate the hull design properly. The C-tug is a little pricey, but will be worth it to me if it fits, which I think it will. For this kayak, you definitely want a kayak cart of some kind. Overall excellent kayak for the price! Hope my review helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEAST! I've owned my Catch 120 for almost 3 years now and I have seen my friends go through several kayaks only to end up getting a Catch 120 themselves. I've fished lakes, rivers, creeks, ponds and even the flats out in Corpus. I have literally bent this kayak in half and then rode it the other half of the day like nothing happened. It's a no brainer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Stability Bad Tracking The reason I bought this kayak was because I wanted to stand and fish and be comfortable. It is super stable as I can stand in it easily and I have never been close to tipping over. The seat is amazing like most have said. The major complaint I have about The Catch 120 is the tracking is very poor because of the tunnel hull design. Secondly, the light weight of this kayak is a plus when you are wanting to transport it but it hurts the quality of the kayak when there is a gust of wind on the water. The wind will blow you all over the place in this thing. This is also another result of the tunnel hull design as it doesn't knife into the water. The kayak spins around in circles when you cast. It has a very hard time staying straight. Many times, I will cast and not even be able to finish working my bait before I am turning in a complete circle. Overall, I would give this kayak a 4/5 mainly because the comfort, stability and the high seating position. But if you are wanting to go fishing on a gusty day or keep your kayak pointing in the direction you want it to while fishing, you may get really frustrated.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect Amazing kayak for the price. You get a lot for your money. The only thing I wish it had stock was carry handles on the side of the kayak. I know it has 4 carry handles but if you try to carry it by one of the side handles near the seat it will eventually come loose. Simple fix I did to mine was buy handles from Walmart for $9 and install them below the factory handles for better more comfortable carrying.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pelican Catch 120 - Great stable kayak Have owned mine for a year now and totally love it! Super stable, plenty of room for all your gear and didn't hurt the budget too hard. Could use a skeg or rudder system to help it track better but worth every penny. Seats in kayaks don't get any better than this one.

What is the seat height? Looking to be able to sit with my knees bent like a chair instead of straight out in front of me

Asked by: Eck
The seat sits low in the kayak so this might be not be as comfortable depending on how tall you are.

I can’t find a dealer in my area willing to order a catch 120 in Lava for me. Any suggestions on how I can get a Lava Catch 120?

Asked by: TTabor
We do not ship to the public, so your best bet would be to verify with dealers near you. You can verify with Dick's, West Marine, Dunhams, or Academy.
