Reviews & Questions

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly What I Needed! I have been kayak fishing for a few years now but I used a just Pelican Trailblazer which I started to know what I needed in a kayak and learned balanced etc. with. I saw this Sentinel 100X Angler at a local shop and I knew this is the one I needed and more! I am 5'7" 180 pounds, fits very comfortable! I tested this with a open can and my cellphone strapped, (wouldn't recommend that if you are trying to sneak. The vibration from the phone vibrates the whole kayak). The features right in front of you when you are sitting are awesome. Cell phone or GPS with strap. Two different sized cup holders, and the whole center counsel DOES lift up so for those water sensitive objects. The next thing which was the icing on the cake was the rod holders! Two of them! I bass fish so I have one rod with one lure (frog) than another rod setup for something else (wacky worm). So instead of throwing your reel on a patch or a log to change the lure, just swap them like a sword! Also, perfect for a net which I plan on getting. Next, are the side bungees for the paddles. Before I would have to sling the paddle behind me or balance it on my lap while I fished. This way, it's so easy and really fast to strap your paddle even using one hand while the other reaches back to one of your rods like a knight drawing his sword. The bungees are actually really secure and I was thinking could possibly strap a rod. Finally, the HUGE removable container in the back. So for those longer fishing trips or camping, easy to store your stuff. It is removable so a pretty decent tackle box could be used there. Although, I wouldn't recommend trying to grab it while out on the lake unless you have super good balance. In conclusion, the weight it about what you would expect. 45 pounds. To me, it feels a tiny bit more wobbly than what I am used too but I'll get used to it. I plan on buying an anchor and a small net. I also plan on customizing it a little with GoPro mounts, possibly a fish finder maybe custom paint it. I am really happy with this kayak. Beginner to moderate kayak fishing users would enjoy this. Keep in mind, the fish LOVE to hit a foot away and you will get dragged which is always funny to people passing by. Do something that is challenging and rewarding at the same time. Buy this kayak!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fishing yak Bought this past summer for small lake fishing. First fishing kayak. Cant say how happy I am with it. I’m 6’ 190 lbs. Very comfortable. Easy to maneuver in and out of water. Good storage inc rod storage, paddle cords on sides and large removable storage at rear. Overall worth every penny. Would highly recommend. Need to buy 2 scupper plugs ( 1 under ur legs, 1 under rear storage) so your legs don’t get soaked if wearing pants in cooler months. Also recommend upgrading your paddle drip rings. Bought a set is Seattle Sports rings from Amazon for $19

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! LOVE this kayak! I received this kayak about a month ago as a gift from son and daughter in law. I'm never home I'm 50, 5'5" & 140 lbs. with lower back issues. The molded handles make easy to load/unload and carry. I'm having issues finding a roof rack for my car but the kayak fits nicely with the back seats down and only hangs out of the trunk about 16". It's roomy and comfortable enough to be on the water for a full day with ample accessible storage to bring everything you need. Even a cup holders for your Timmies and butt tray (if your a smoker). Rather than a cell phone holder, a depth finder mount or front rod mount would have been ideal (easily added on though). You can also add a dry storage hatch in your rear storage platform (coming soon) I really love the convenience of the exoPack. I keep my essential in there so I'm ready to go anytime and it makes it quick to get on the water. It handles well and is quite stable. I have no problems standing and casting or just stretching. It's a little more challenging than a boat but I catch more for fish and get some physical activity at the same time. It's a win, win! I've been out on an average of 3/4 times a week for the past month and don't have legitimate complaint about the sentinal 100x angler. I'm researching electric motors.... recommendations welcomed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light kayak! I just bought this Kayak and I'm very happy with it. My favourite features are: It is very light. It's easy to carry around. The crate - lots of storage for your gear and when I'm done kayaking, I just take crate out of the kayak and go. And it comes with handles that you screw and it becomes an extra rod holders! so you get 4 rod holders!! The bungee cords - they are very useful to keep items protected such as my paddle and stuff on the crate. The storage compartment - it's very simple. it keeps the items inside from getting wet. Just make sure that it is fully closed! the handles at the bow and stern Cons - The Chair - it is comfy but not a whole lot of cushion. Your bum gets wet pretty easily as its sitting at the very bottom. - It doesn't come with paddles - the storage at the bow of the kayak isn't as useful as i thought it would be. I am a 5'5" female and I can't really reach anything I've put in there. Overall, it's a great kayak, great price, great for people who don't have big vehicles, and it's pretty light compared to other fishing kayaks.

I love to take my dog with me when I go fishing. Would this kayak be able to accommodate a person (5 ft 6in) and a large dog (80lbs)?

I am 6ft3 and 220lbs and usually carry about 3 tackle boxes wich are about 12inX9inX2in and 1 extra rod and reel. I was wondering if this kayak will support that weight and have enough storage for my gear. Thank you.

Asked by: Jyco75
The max capacity are (275 lb - 125 kg), it would be best if you had a fishing kayak at least 12 ft in length. The catch 120 are (400 lb - 181 kg) max capacity, I believe it would be better to suit your needs.

Hello, I have this kayak and I am about to move to Florida. How would it handle in the swells? Do you believe it would be stable enough to handle the ocean?

I just purchased the Sentinel 100X Angler Kayak, just wondering what length paddle to purchase(I am 5'9") and what size scupper plugs to purchase for this model ? Very excited to get this in the water

Asked by: footah
I suggest you taking a paddle lenght of 98.5" (250 cm) and over. The Poseidon Angler would be a great choice for you: The scupper plugs size is 1.25" (2.54 cm):

Can you easily get back in kayak if you went swimming or fell out?

Asked by: DC
It is a sit on top so generally easier than a sit in kayak. It also all depends on your abilities. Some find it easier as some find it difficult. It is a pretty stable model so I would lean more towards easier than harder.

Can you stand up and fish in this kayak I am wondering about the stabiltity.

Asked by: Austin12345
This kayak is made with our Multichine Flat Bottom Hull, which is one of most stable ones for our kayaks. It is stable enough to stand, as long as you respect the weight capacity of the kayak and your own physical capacity AND always wear a individual flotation vest. :)
