Light, portable and a lot of fun
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) With a couple of friends we had a small day canoeing planned on a river up north. That day i decided to switch my usual ride with that little thing. Dont get me wrong, i'm not saying that as a negative thing but rather a strong point. Its small so it changes direction in a heartbeat. Its light enough even my girlfrien can get it herself on top of her car without any help. And its stable enough that i lent it to my friend who's never been in one and he was able to have some fun with it without any problem. I would definatly recommend it. In fact my girlfriend wants to steal it from me now.

Excellent Weekend Warrior Kayak!
I recevied this kayak as a birthday gift last summer and I love it. Not too big or small, the perfect size and weight. I can easily carry it from the car to the lake over my shoulder and I'm only 5'6, no trolly required. It tracks very well in the water and is very stable in rough wake and choppy water. I purchased the carbon pelican paddle to go with it.
This is not for the hardcore enthusiast as it is quite basic but it's perfect for the weekend warrior who wants to be on the water. Load the storage bin with bottled water and sunscreen and head onto the water!
I highly recommend it!

Solid Little Kayak
I picked this Pelican specifically because its weight and length meant I could be handle it by myself out of water; roof rack, storage, etc.
I've had it out on Lake St Clair and the Detroit River. It's quite stable sitting with the knees out position. You won't be able to keep up with 12 to 14 footers but this is to be expected with the Pulse 100X's shorter waterline length. And the directional stability isn't 100% either, but hey, it's a ten footer after all.
It seems to be able to take a bit of rough handling and can still float in little more than ankle deep water.
The rear hatch isn't meant to be completely watertight so I would recommend a dry bag for the goods that need it.
All in all I'm quite pleased with this little boat.

A perfect kayak for the beginner, and beyond
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My partner and I bought a canoe a few years ago, hoping to explore the coast of the Bras d'Or Lake but we found navigation tough when even minimal winds were blowing. We bought two of these kayaks and are very happy with them; I am not athletic but can easily navigate the shoreline near our home in my spiffy red kayak.
If you are looking for a kayak to take you on long trips, you may cast the net wider, but for recreational kayaking, this is great.

Great Kayak!
I bought this kayak just a week ago and can't be more happy with it. I am a completely beginner and was able to balance it right away in a windy day on the lake. Is very stable and made me feel secured. I would recommend it 100%

GREAT KAYAK
Hi there,
we have one of these Kayaks and it's extremely durable, fun and easy to manouvre. Our kayak is over 10 years old and has been passed from my cousin, in Quebec, to my brother then me. We use the Pelican 100 quite often and it still looks pretty much like new. I'd say it's a great purchase that will offer years of fun.

Great for the beginner!
Picked up the Summit 100 last summer. This was my first kayak and was a little worried about the stability, Turns out this is a very stable kayak even in rough water, Easy to maneuver and feels very comfortable. Yes the rear storage compartment is not water proof but it was never advertised that it was! Over all this is a great kayak for a beginner like myself and would highly recommend the Summit 100 as way to get into the sport.

Great Purchase and value
Bought this about one month ago....first time kayaker. This has been absolutely perfect for me...stable...great tracking....comfortable. Invested in a skirt after first outing just to complete the package and stay drier. got my value out of the fun I have had with this already!

I have a Summit 100x that’s yellow and white. It has a cargo bin in the top of the back of the boat behind the seat. It doesn’t quite look like the current edition. What was the weight restriction and what was the cost of the boat? I have pictures.

Is there a spray cover that will fit this kayak. It doesn’t have the round fit like other kayaks.
Pelican does not sell spray skirts for this model. We recommend an universal skirt that fits:
